Sin embargo, la realidad -muchas veces contradictoria- indica que Europa envejece. Es junto a Japón la zona del mundo en donde éste fenómeno relativamente reciente se ha convertido en algo extremo y preocupante, aunque grato para quienes ganan en expectativa de vida, desde luego.
Mientras los Fondos de Inversión y de pensiones privadas, desde el mundo paralelo del capitalismo especulativo, asustan a los y las contribuyentes y futuros jubilados con la supuesta “insostenibilidad” del Sistema Público de Pensiones, los expertos e instituciones de análisis independientes más prestigiosas advierten de que, tan sólo la incorporación al mercado laboral europeo de un número ingente de inmigrantes garantizará el cobro de las futuras prestaciones en muchos países o regiones de la UE.
